Our history

Our estate was established in 1974, born out of the passion of our parents, Leonelli Marino and Donini Bruna, who with determination knew how to enhance a territory that reflected their origins and traditions. It’s a family passion with deep roots, born in an area with perfect geological and microclimate characteristics, benefiting from excellent exposure.

Our property covers an area of almost fourteen hectares and is characterized by historic vineyards that have been lovingly cared for for about fifty years. It is in this ideal context of highly preserved nature that the grapes from our vineyards grow, giving rise to our distinctive and excellent wines. We practice crop rotation to provide valuable natural support to the vineyards.

The grapes are handpicked and vinified using both ancestral and Charmat methods. Nature, environmental sustainability, passion, and innovation are at the heart of our business, which has become organic agriculture in recent years in full respect of biodiversity.

Terrain

The surface terrain consists mostly of sandy clays, which allow Lambrusco Grasparossa to produce a not particularly abundant but high-quality harvest with very distinct characteristics.

Climate

The climate is warm and temperate with significant rainfall throughout the year, even in the driest month. The average annual temperature is 13.1°C with an average annual precipitation of 832 mm.

The grapes

On an area of nearly fourteen hectares characterized by historic vineyards, lovingly tended for over forty years, both white and red grapes are produced, giving rise to our distinctive and excellent wines.

Bottling process

Our range of bottles includes the Charmat method with Lambrusco Grasparossa DOC ‘Cà Imperatore,’ Pignoletto DOC ‘La Guardia,’ and the Brut Metodo Classico Sparkling Wine ‘Marino,’ and then we move on to the Ancestral method with Lambrusco and Pignoletto.

Winemaking

The wines are the result of skillful and modern winemaking methods, adopting artisanal care processes that fully enhance the quality and authenticity of all the wines produced by the estate.

Grape harvest

At Tenuta Galvana, the art of the grape harvest still takes place using traditional methods, typically between August and mid-October, with manual harvesting in crates.

Castelvetro di Modena is a municipality located between the hills of the Modenese Apennines and the upper region of the Po Valley, with just over 11,000 inhabitants and less than 20 km from Modena. This Modenese municipality is a small Italian gem.
